Green Card Renewal
Lawful permanent residents – green card holders – in the United States who’s green cards have expired, or will expire within the next six months, should apply to get the green card renewed as soon as possible. Permanent residents whose green cards have expired may be considered to be “out of status” and could be denied entry into the United States. If you have an old version of the green card, for instance Form AR-3, Form I-151, or Form 1-551, you should apply to get a current version of the green card. If you hold a green card that has no expiration date you are not required to renew your green card, but it is strongly recommended due to a new law proposal concerning the USCIS.
