Immigration Case Status

Immigration Case Status

Immigration Case Status, or “My Case Status” is a service that is available on the website of the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). By using the online case-status service, individuals who have filed immigration-related applications with the USCIS may obtain up to date information on the status of their applications, where in the application process their cases currently are, and what the expected processing times are for the relevant steps in the immigration process. To use the USCIS “My Case Status” service, the prospective immigrants who have received an application receipt number on an application notice from the USCIS may enter the application receipt number (the number begins with three alphabetic letters such as EAC, LIN, SRC or WAC) in an online form, and the online service will in return yield a graphic description of which step of the process the applicants case are currently at. Indicated in the graph are nine possible steps that applications may have to go through during the process, although not all applications are required to go through all the steps of the process. Applicants with the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services can also sign up to get e-mail or text message notifications when there is a change of status in their immigration applications.
